Model 70 Hiroden

Model 70 was imported from Dortmund in Germany in 1980. It keeps German atmosphere inside with tram map and advertisements of local German beer in the silver-colored body. To mark the 100th anniversary of the launch of streetcars, it got out of operation and was remodeled to a restaurant in 2012.

Model 100 Hiroden

This model was used from 1912, when the streetcar service was introduced in Hiroshima city. The one running today is a replica model which was made for a public event in 1984. It's operated only for a certain term in a year.

Model 150 Hiroden

|
Model150 had metals as a part of the body for the first time in Hiroden streetcars. Streetcars of this model were running when Atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, so that many of them got damaged, but all of them were repaired soon then went back into service. No.156 is the only one which still exists and it's been kept in Eba depot, not being in service.

Model 200 Hiroden

Model 200 was presented to Hiroshima city by Hannover city in Germany to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the sister city relationship. Therefore it's called "Hannover tram" as well. This streetcar operates only for a certain term on a certain line.

Model 350 Hiroden

Although this model was built for direct service from Miyajima line to City line in 1958, it runs only on City line now. It is used for the training for City-line-drivers as well.

Model 500 Hiroden

Model 500 was a basic type in Japanese streetcars history after the World War 2nd. All of the streetcars of this model retired in 2003.

Model 550 Hiroden

Model 550 had the body made of only metal for the first time. It was also the first model which had a pantagraph. The commercial operation is not being done now.

Model 570 Hiroden

This model was bought from Kobe when its streetcar service went out of use. No.582 still stays in Hiroden and it runs for election campaigns as well.

Model 600 Hiroden

Model 600 was transferred from Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co.,Ltd. The appearance of its front can be said that it looks like a face of a horse, the color painting of its body is characteristic,too.

Model 650 Hiroden

Model 650 is widely known as the streetcar model which was running on August 6th when the Atomic bomb was dropped. All 5 of them got damaged from the bomb but they went back into service soon after being repaired. No.651 and No.652 are still in operation, No.654 which retired in 2006 is now kept at our museum.

Model 700 Hiroden

This original model of Hiroshima Electric Railway Co,Ltd was produced in 1982, 24 years after they had done it last time. Around 7th of July every year, kindergarten children decorate inside the streetcars for Star festival.

Model 750 Hiroden

Model 750 was bought from Osaka Municipal Electric Railway between 1965 and 1968. It used to be a main force as it was large-size until newer models appeared.

Model 800 Hiroden

Model 800 was produced with the latest technologies at that time to improve the efficiency of the energy saving, the comfort of the ride and the reduction of the noise. It is equipped with a chopper control system with a regeneration brake.

Model 900 Hiroden

Model 900 was bought from Osaka Municipal Electric Railway. It was the first model as a driver-only operation streetcar in Hiroshima.

Model 1100 Hiroden

Model 1100 was transferred from Kobe City Railways. The last vehicle of the model retired in 2003, it was brought back to Kobe for display in Misaki-Koen.

Model 1150 Hiroden

|
Model 1150 was bought from Kobe City Railways. No.1156 is the only one being in operation now, it has some painted pictures of animals on the both sides of the body.

Model 1900 was transfered from Kyoto Electric Railway Co. Ltd. in 1978 When Kyoto closed the streetcar service. Each vehicle has their own nickname related to Kyoto.

Model 2000 was produced originaly by Hiroshima Electric Railway Co,Ltd. It had been in operation as a two-car vehicle, however, it retired from commercial oparation in 2009.

Model 3000 was bought from Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co.,Ltd. The Model used to be two-car vehicle, then it was remodeled to three-car vehicle.

Model 3100 was remodeled from model 2500 into 3-car vehicle. It was upgraded its power and it was also newly equipped with air conditioners and larger rollsigns.

Model 3500 Hiroden

It was designed under the program of Japan Railway Engineer's Association as a foundation for modern streetcars. The new technologies at that time used to this model affected the development of other models.

Model 3700 Hiroden

Model 3700 was produced based on model 3500. Its seats are designed to be enough room for many passengers in rush hours.

Model 3800 was produced as a three-car vehicle. It adopted VVVF inverter control and it gives a smooth accelaration and deceleration.

Model 3900 Hiroden

Model 3900 was produced based on model 3800 with a minor change, therefore the appearance is very similar. It is used as a main force as well as model 3800 now.

Model 3950 was remodeled version of model 3900. It has an updated appearance and nicknamed "Green Liner" in English.

Model 5000 Hiroden

Model 5000, nicknamed "Green Mover" was the first low-floor vehicle for Hiroshima Electric Railway Company. It produced in Germany and the first one was delivered to Hiroshima by airplane.

Model 5100 Hiroden

Model 5100, nicknamed "Green Mover Max" was the very first low-floor vehicle entirely produced in Japan. It has wider aisles and more number of seats than model 5000. Most of the parts were made in Japan so that maintenance became easier.

Model 1000 Hiroden

Model 1000 was produced for the use in city-line. This model has low-floor, as the same as Model 5100, but has shorter length to run other lines which Model 5100 couldn't do. No.1001 is called "PICCOLO" and No.1002 is called "PICCOLA".
